The latest series of works by Elian explore the secret anatomy of the image degree zero: the point, in its double nature of mark and pixel. The gaze hesitates between the painting and its duplicate on the computer screen. The familiar motif of the telescope enhaces the sensation of vulnerability - that of the voyuer caught unawares at the people - while slightly distorting the image. This intimate ceremonial of vision actualizes the threshold between seeing and touching. Through the tautology of the computer replica , the point becomes blind spot, since the pixel neutrally registers the information grafted upon it but also threatens to devour the image.
