Elian’s work is already unmistakable. Her true sense of the monumental is not undermined by polisemantic and polymorphous imagery. The artist’s tightly controlled sensousness reveals itself especially in performances. Painting, object, performance - these are manifestations of a vital art, through which Elian makes public a private dialogue in an effort to establish a more profound and complex relationship to the world.
